East Point police are investigating the shooting death of a man and a woman inside a car shipping business.

An employee arrived to work just after 1 p.m. Thursday at the RM Auto International at 1157 Willingham Drive discovered the man's body just inside the door. She then ran from the building and called 911.

When officers arrived, they searched the office and found the body of a woman. They said both people were killed by gunshot wounds. It took hours to identify them because investigators said neither person had any identification on them.

Police said two people showed up at the scene, saying they knew the slain man and woman. Officers quickly escorted them to police headquarters to get more information from them.

While workers in a similar business next door said they didn't know the names of the victims, they did say they had talked to them, and the woman appeared to be in her mid 30's; and they said she was very nice. Sometimes the two businesses borrowed tools from one another. They said they did think it was odd that when they showed up for work at around 8:30 Thursday morning, the door to the loading dock at RM Auto International wasn't open. They said it was usually wide open by that time.

Investigators spent hours processing the crime scene and dusting for fingerprints. They lifted several prints off the glass front door. Others canvassed the industrial area looking for anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual.

Police are not yet releasing the victims' names, and won't even confirm whether they worked at the car shipping company or if they are the owners.
